Food is Medicine – A Story You Must Hear or See!

Did you know that upwards of 70% or more of the risk of autoimmune disease, mental health issues, cancer, and, in fact, most chronic diseases is determined by diet, toxin exposure, and activity level? And, because of this, dramatically changing your diet and your exposure to environmental toxins can create incredible improvements in chronic diseases?

Dr. Terry Wahls is a board-certified internal medicine physician who was diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis. The disease left her wheelchair-bound and on her way to dementia and an early death. Although she was being treated by the foremost medical experts and placed on multiple medications, her disease continued to progress. She was told by her doctors to get her affairs in order.

But she didn’t give up.

After determining how to maximize the delivery of nutrients and energy to her brain cells, she was able to not only halt the progression of her disease, but reverse it. She went from being confined to a wheelchair to completing an 18-mile bicycle tour.

Dr. Wahls reversed her disease, not with medications, but by using the power of food. By adding certain foods to her diet and removing others, she was able to get off her medications and live a normal life again. Over the past several years she has achieved similar results with her patients, all while reducing their dependence on prescription medications.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have Dr. Wahls share her work, results, and recommendations on the latest episode of my podcast, The Holistic Plastic Surgery Show. It’s truly an eye-opener. If you or someone you know suffers from chronic autoimmune disease, please check it out and share it with your loved ones. Even if you don’t know someone with autoimmune disease, the information she shares is fascinating and can really change lives.
