The Restylane family of fillers are all based on hyaluronic acid (HA).  Each filler has its own specialized use, approved by the FDA for that purpose.  For example, Restylane Lyft is FDA-approved for plumping up soft tissues like the cheeks.  Restylane Silk is FDA-approved for filling in your lips.  Regular Restylane is great for improving your nasolabial folds.  Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne are great for filling in wrinkles in the lower face and areas that have a lot of movement.

Unlike in the past, it’s no longer “one filler fits all.”  Now, discerning physicians choose the appropriate filler for the body part it’s meant to treat.

One super-important feature of the Restylane collection of injectable fillers is that they are all reversible with hyaluronidase.  This makes these HA fillers much safer than their non-HA counterparts.  Prior to having it injected, it’s a good idea to ask your injector if he or she has hyaluronidase on hand.  Hyaluronidase is pretty expensive to purchase, and expires quickly, so some doctors cut corners and don’t keep it in stock.  Bad idea.

Take it from someone who knows.  When you need hyaluronidase you don’t want to wait for the next shipment to come in tomorrow.  You will need it right away.

In general, if you’re thinking about facial fillers, whether it’s for wrinkles, plumping, or smoothing, you can’t go wrong with the Restylane family of fillers.
