This unusual and fringe procedure involves injecting carbon dioxide into the skin.  Practitioners claim that it can create significant health benefits, including reduction of fat, improvement of cellulite, and anti-aging effects of the skin.

I know of no scientific proof that this works.  I do know that there are risks with an invasive procedure like this, including infection and air embolism.

For these reasons, until there is more proof that carboxytherapy is safe and effective, it’s on my Holistic Beauty Blacklist.
