Should Insurance Pay For Weight Loss Surgery?

Thank you to Fox and Friends for inviting me to be on the show to discuss this interesting issue! I look pretty grumpy in the screenshot, don’t I?

  1. This might not be a bad idea, although there should be some sort of program in place that ensures the patient does, in fact, improve their lifestyle. For instance, if a person does not show any foresight or interest in lifestyle improvement, then they should not be candidates for this surgery.

Just imagine a person overeating and causing stomach staples or lap bands to break! That could easily cost the state three times the amount to treat the same patient. 🙁
