Hope and Faith

Wow, what a difference a week makes.

As I write this I’m sitting in an empty office between virtual consultations. The hospitals have halted all non-essential surgeries, all but one of my employees have been sent home to protect themselves, and the question of how long this will last weighs heavily on my mind.

But even with the fear of our hospitals becoming overcrowded and the economy crashing, I have hope and faith. Hope in the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Americans and faith that we will see this through and come out on the other side somehow better than we were going in. In the meantime, I will be here at YPS doing virtual consultations and creating educational and entertaining content for you on our social media channels.

I’d also like to encourage you to consider taking the following actions to keep yourselves healthy:

1. Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night.

2. Go outside when you can for some fresh air and sunlight.

3. Supplement your body with Vitamins C, D (as recommended by your doctor), zinc, probiotics, and fish oil (omega-3 fatty acids).

4. Wash your hands frequently.

5. If you are feeling sick, please stay at home.

6. Eat healthy foods, like colorful fruits and vegetables.

7. Take advantage of technology like Facetime to socialize and de-stress.

Please do your part to “flatten the curve.” I will do the same.

My most heartfelt wishes to you and your families. May you stay healthy and happy. We will see this through together.
