Extreme Body Modification

Forked tongues.  Implantable horns.  Bolts on the neck like Frankenstein.

These are just a few of the different extreme body modifications that are occurring in today’s society.  Shockingly, they are not performed by doctors, PA’s, or nurses.  They’re not even performed by licensed medical professionals.

Extreme body modification procedures are performed by body modification “artists,” similar to tattoo artists.  Because they have no medical license, tongues are forked and titanium is implanted without true anesthesia.  Ouch!

Is it safe and right for non-medical professionals to be performing these invasive surgeries?

No.

Like any operations, these procedures come with many risks, including infection and hematoma.  And if that happens, who is going to properly take care of the complications?  Will your body modification artists meet you in the hospital and take care of you?  Of course not.

If you are considering extreme body modification, it’s super important for you to be an informed consumer.  Know what risks and long-term potential effects you’re exposing yourself to.  Don’t settle for anything less than the best in medical and surgical care.  You deserve it.

For these reasons, Extreme Body Modification is on my Holistic Beauty Blacklist.
