How I Holistically Thickened My Thinning Hair
- Posted on: Dec 14 2022
I’ve always prided myself on having a full head of thick hair, but approximately 6 months ago I noticed it becoming thin at the top of my head. I’ve never had this problem before, so I totally freaked out! However, through a number of holistic actions I took, the thinning improved. It’s still not quite as full as I’d like it to be, but it’s definitely improving.
How did I do it? I’ll tell you!
Yoga and Meditation – As a surgeon, I’m under constant stress, and stress is one of the reasons why hair can thin. Of course, I wasn’t going to give up being a surgeon! So I began to be more consistent with practicing yoga and meditation to help relieve some of that stress. Regulating and monitoring your stress levels isn’t just great for preventing hair thinning – it’s great for all aspects of your health!
Nutrafol – Nutritional deficiencies are another major cause of hair loss, regardless if you’re a man or woman. So I began taking Nutrafol – the top nutritional supplement for thinning hair. Nutrafol contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and nutrients such as biotin which target thinning hair and cause your hair to get thicker. If you’re interested in trying Nutrafol for yourself, you can check out three different varieties HERE at my website.
Low Light Laser Treatments – These treatments are scientifically proven to thicken hair that has gotten thinner. These are “cold lasers” that encourage your hair to go into a growth phase. I used the iRestore Hair Growth System, which is a helmet used for 25 minutes every other day. It has 282 lasers and LEDs and it’s not painful whatsoever! Want to learn more about it? Rosemary Shampoo – This might sound surprising, but rosemary essential oil diluted with a carrier oil has been known to help hair growth, and its comparable to Rogaine! So I began using a shampoo that contained rosemary oil. However, I recently switched to a shampoo made by Nutrafol and I’m hoping to see great changes as I continue using it.
There is a caveat to all of this, though. If you notice your hair starting to thin, you need to act quickly. If you lose too much hair and you have areas that are completely bald, there’s nothing you can do short of surgery to get it back.
But I can honestly tell you, I’ve seen wonderful results in only 6 months of treating my thinning hair! It’s definitely a welcome improvement, and I’m going to continue the treatments for at least another 6 months! If you’re starting to see thinning hair and want to make a change, I hope this testimony gives you the encouragement to begin your holistic journey to thicker locks!
