Have you heard ofΒ Glass Skin? This term may have originated in South Korea, and it refers to skin that is perfectly smooth, hydrated, healthy, and wrinkle-free. Who doesn’t want that?
Glass skin is possible! And it’s not just for people who are lucky in their genes or young in their years. Here are some options to give you skin that is smooth and shiny as glass.
- Focus on your skin’s barrier function. This is the most important thing when it comes to glass skin. We’ve been overly aggressive with our skin for too long. Astringents and stinging acids can all disrupt our skin’s barrier, causing it to be dry, red, and inflamed. Instead, focus on hydrating your skin with serums, essences, and moisturizers with ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and probiotics. MyΒ Hyaluronic + Probiotic SerumΒ was inspired by K beauty and hydrates and supports your skin’s microbiome.
- Exfoliate, but gently.Regular exfoliation is essential to getting glass skin, but overdoing it can result in red, irritated skin. If you have sensitive skin, exfoliate once a week. If your skin isn’t sensitive, then 2-3 times per week is great.
- Keep your pores clean.Although technically your pores and pore size are determined by your genetics, you can make themΒ lookΒ smaller! On this week’sΒ podcastΒ a dermatologist and I share tips on just how to do this.
- Try aΒ Gold FillTox Facial. This super popular treatment combines microneedling with the superficial injection of Botox, hyaluronic acid filler, and growth factors to plump and smooth the skin instantly. It’s relatively painless, has no downtime, and gets your skin onto the Glass Skin path.
- Consider Botox.High end Korean skin care clinics are known for stacking treatments or basically getting a number of treatments done at one time. While the peels and facials may vary, virtually all of these treatment regimens include injections of a neurotoxin like Botox or its competitors. These easy treatments are great for smoothing the lines of your forehead, between your brows, crow’s feet, and even lifting the corners of your mouth.
Although there is no one treatment that will guarantee you glass skin, these are some ways to help you get there!
So how do you reduce the appearance of pores as mentioned above? On this week’sΒ podcastΒ I cover nine ways to make pores look smaller, Kris Jenner’s cosmetic hand treatments (or lack thereof), how to erase dark circles, and a lot more!
