👍👎 Rating Cosmetic Treatments From 1-10…

With so many cosmetic treatments available, how do you decide what’s the best option for you? This week, I’m rating some of the most popular cosmetic treatments from 1-10!

Red light therapy= 8. I am a big fan of red light therapy, whether it’s in the form of a mask or panels. Science shows they can help stimulate collagen and elastin production, although expectations need to be realistic. My favorite table-top, portable red light panel is the Lumebox, available HERE.

Microcurrent (like NuFace)= 5. These devices use a tiny electrical current to stimulate muscles in your face. Although they can create a visible change in as little as one treatment, there’s currently no evidence that the results last.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers (like Restylane and Juvederm)= 8. Fillers have gotten a bad rap, mainly due to people overdoing their fillers and giving them pillow faces. I think it’s important to realize that fillers can be very powerful and easy ways to replenish lost volume in the cheeks, lips, and other parts of the face. If it’s done conservatively, the results can be fantastic.

CoolSculpting= 4. This is a non-invasive treatment that freezes fat, causing patients to lose approximately 25% of the thickness of fat after one or two sessions. The two issues with this treatment: modest results and the risk of paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH). Approximately 1% of patients get an INCREASE in the thickness of fat after this treatment! Instead, consider Sculpsure.

Exosome Serums= 7, with a potential of being a 10. Exosomes very well could be the future of skin care. These are information packets that stimulate our cells to do various things, like create more collagen, reduce inflammation, etc. Currently they are in their infancy, but their potential in the future is huge. If you’d like to try the latest, greatest exosome serum, please call our office at (248) 273-7700 to try Plated Exosomes.

Dry Brushing= 7. This at-home habit utilizes a soft brush with long handle to brush your skin from the outside-in. Not only does it exfoliate the skin, but it can also stimulate lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness and water retention. If you’d like to try it, you can find an inexpensive one on Amazon HERE.
