You asked, so I’m answering! Here are answers to questions you’ve sent me via my Instagram page:
What are the benefits of salmon DNA treatments? This is a hot topic in aesthetics right now. People are flying to South Korea to get salmon DNA (also known as PDRN) injected into their faces. PDRN is a biostimulator, stimulating the skin to rejuvenate and create collagen. Currently it’s FDA approved only for topical application, so you can’t legally inject it in the US. At YPS we are currently testing out a state-of-the-art version called VAMP. More info to come very soon!
How can you get rid of cellulite? There are two classes of treatments for cellulite: surgical options that cut the fibrous bands that create cellulite dimpling and non-invasive options that involve deep heating and tissue massage to smooth and de-puff the areas. At YPS we offer the latter, also known as Body FX. This entails 10 treatments, each a few days apart, to smooth the buttocks and thighs. Results last about six months. If you’d like to try it call us at (248) 273-7700 or use our convenient scheduling app HERE. Now is the time to smooth cellulite for the summer!
Does microcurrent, like NuFace, work? Yes, temporarily. These treatments utilize electrical energy to stimulate contraction of facial muscles. This can create a temporary lifting effect that may last several hours, but there is no data to show any long-term benefits.
Do you recommend I get IV NAD treatments? No. NAD supplementation is believed by some to enhance energy production in the body, and mouse studies seem to show this to be true. Unfortunately, there is little human evidence to support this just yet. However, if you want to see what supplementing with NAD does for you, I recommend skipping the NAD IV and try an oral form like NR. This is much less invasive and expensive.
What motivated you to pursue plastic surgery? I actually share my entire story in my two memoirs: IN STITCHES and PLAYING GOD. Click the book titles to check them out on Amazon!
Is there science to show collagen supplements work? YES. There are multiple meta-analyses, some with over 1000 subjects, that prove taking a daily hydrolyzed collagen supplement can plump the skin and increase collagen production. I’m a huge believer in collagen. I take my YOUN Beauty Supplemental Collagen every day and so does my wife, my mom, my sister, my dad (when my mom reminds him), and thousands of my followers and friends! Check it out HERE if you haven’t tried it!
