What I’m Doing Now That I’m FIFTY?
- Posted on: Nov 9 2022
I turned 50 on Halloween. Yes, I’ve entered my fifties, and although I know it’s a blessing to get older (since the alternative isn’t so appealing), I wish I was 30 (or even 40) again. That being said, I feel great, but know that I need to take care of myself in order to continue feeling and looking my best. Here are some things I plan to do now that I’m in my fifties and encourage you to do, too.
1. Yoga – Our bodies lose flexibility, muscle mass, and balance as we get older. I believe yoga is a great way to maintain all of these, and now practice yoga twice a week. Although I’m not as flexible as I’d like to be, it’s definitely helping me feel more limber and balanced. There is a fallacy that the only exercise you need as you get older is walking. Far from it. You need to use and workout muscles other than those that simply propel your legs forward.
2. Meditate – I’m not good at meditating, and I’m not consistent with meditation. But I know that meditation is great for stress, aging, sleep, and your overall health. Simply taking 10 minutes to sit in a quiet room, closing your eyes, and focusing on your breathing while pushing other thoughts out of your head is a great way to center yourself and gain benefits from meditation. Try it, and see how you feel afterwards!
3. Skin Care – It’s never too late to take good care of your skin, and it starts with what you put on it. Cleansing twice a day, applying an antioxidant serum in the morning, using a good sunscreen, exfoliating twice a week, and applying an effective retinol at night is a great basic skin care regimen that can help your skin look youthful for the rest of your life. Pick the products you love, or try my YOUN Beauty Two Minutes, Five Years Younger skin care bundle for this simple but effective routine.
4. Don’t Worry About What Other People Think About You – For decades I was the classic “people pleaser,” often to my own detriment. As I’ve gotten older and gained millions of followers, I’ve realized that no matter what you do or how earnest and sincere you live your life, there will always be people who don’t like you. People who want to tear you down. It’s ok. Be yourself, be kind to others, and do what you believe is the right thing and you will not go wrong.
My Podcast is BACK!
After taking a hiatus for several months, I’ve begun Season 2 of the Holistic Plastic Surgery Show! Although I won’t be uploading episodes every week, I plan to upload them here and there when I have something important to share. On this episode, I go into more detail with some of the topics I wrote about above – Things I Wish I Started Earlier Now That I’m Fifty. Listen to it HERE if you have an iPhone, HERE if you have an Android, or HERE on Spotify. And don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode!
Have you subscribed to my YouTube Channel?
Did you know I upload new content to my main YouTube channel and my reaction channel each week? It’s true!
Is that what it looks like hanging from this guy’s ear? I’m reacting to an episode of DR. PIMPLE POPPER where a guy has a huge mass removed from his ear!
