Several years ago I had an epiphany. Too many plastic surgeons are misguiding their patients, encouraging them to go under the knife without truly exhausting the other options. There is SO MUCH that we can do, short of having surgery, to turn back the clock. So much that is natural and holistic.
I recently took some time to write a summary of my beliefs about beauty, and what makes true beauty. This is what I’ve come up with. I’d love to know if you agree:
– Nourishes her skin with natural products
– Supplies her body with healthy foods
– ️Appreciates the importance of alternative medicine
– Rejects society’s distorted perceptions of beauty
– Considers plastic surgery as a last resort
– Practices mindfulness and concern for others
– Loves herself

This is a condition where a person sees herself in the mirror differently than anyone else and undergoes plastic surgery to correct issues that are relatively minor. Sometimes people with BDD end up having too much surgery, making them look unnatural. It’s estimated that 1% of the population suffers from BDD.
